How can we help you?

Costa Rican Medical Care works to bring you some of the finest dental providers Costa Rica has to offer.  CRMC does not mark up prices as some other facilitators do. The price we give you is the same as if you contacted the dentist directly, but we include the services of our coordinator to help you with contacting the dentist, arranging appointments, choosing accommodations, arranging transportation and tourism and more at no extra cost.

Our clinics can save you 30% - 70% over the established dental prices in the U.S. because of lower operating costs.  If your dentist has already given you a treatment plan, our providers will be happy to provide their pricing.  If you have x-rays, our coordinator will be happy to help you transmit them to the dental clinic for review.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT IMPLANTS:  There are several types of implants and implant procedures.  Currently popular in the U.S are the "immediate load" implants, promising a "same day smile".  Costa Rican dental specialists do not recommend these shorter implants because they do not believe they give a strong and lasting support.  They recommend instead a longer, full two-stage implant, which means the implants and any bone grafts needed are done on the first of two trips.  Four to six months healing time is then required before the final crown or denture can be placed over the implant on the second trip.  By placing the implant then grafting the bone and soft tissue around it, there is a much better chance of promoting a strong result.  If you have a treatment plan from a U.S. dentist, please ask them to specify the type of implant they are proposing.  "Immediate load" implants are generally shorter and far less expensive, so you need to be aware of the specific type of implant proposed.

ABOUT DENTAL INSURANCE:  Most dental insurance plans will reimburse for dental procedures in Costa Rica.  Please check with your provider.  If it's covered, our dentists will be happy to complete your reimbursement forms using U.S. dental codes.

Did you know? Many dental crowns, veneers, and bridges  are outsourced to China, Costa Rica and other counties by dentists in the United States. Many are sent to Laboratories in Costa Rica, and shipped Fed Ex back to the U.S. dental office for fitting.  One of our providers does work for more than 500 dentists in the states and sends back over 800 units per week.

Dr. Luis Obando of Nova Dental says "We offer a full-service dental clinic that specializes in cosmetic dentistry, and 95% of our customers are from the USA. The accreditation process was a lot of work to get everything together to meet the US standards, but in the end it helped to improve our clinical and administrative processes."  Nova specialists Dr. Obando (implantologist and periodontal), Dr. Truque (endodontist) and Dr. Chavarria (prosthodontist) provide experienced and caring service to each patient.

Advance Dental has two directors: Dr. Eugenio J. Brenes, director of the restorative area, and Dr. Rentana, surgical.  Dr. Brenes studied and taught at Loma Linda University, in Los Angeles California, where he did a 4 year residency in oral restorations and dental aesthetics. He is certified both in the U.S. and Costa Rica as a specialist aesthetics. Dr. Brenes is in charge of porcelain crowns, porcelain veneers, implant-supported implants, dental bridges, porcelain in-lays and on-lays, hybrid implant prostheses and fixed and removable dentures.

Dr. Luis Kaver of Kaver Dental is regarded as one of the most experienced Costa Rican crown and porcelain veneers specialists.

He is known as the "Dentist to the Stars" in Costa Rica, counting many TV and public figures as patients.  Educated at Baylor University, Dr. Kaver has been working with patients from Costa Rica, the US, Canada, Central & South America, and European counties long before medical tourism was popular.
